Rob Stewart, our Sales Manager was invited to speak at the InsTech London's Climate Event 'Climate Change Risks and Opportunities Today - What This Means For You.' The event is a great opportunity to gather industry experts in one place to discuss the impact of climate change on the industry.

His discussion focused on the reasons why insurers and suppliers should be considering the possible effects of climate change, particularly within the UK. This included discussing consequential effects such as a rise in pluvial flooding, the potential risk of a “big event year” such as 1987 and 1990 occurring in the not too distant future, and how the FCA operational resilience changes will place great pressure around the management of weather claims.

Rob also explained the ways WeatherNet and Synergy Cloud are working on solutions, how we are implementing these to help our clients better understand and manage weather risks, and our desire to collaborate around parametric insurance.
